- NOVAK, Helga M.
- Helga M. Novak was born
in Berlin in 1935; in 1967 she left East Germany to live in West
Germany. She has won numerous literary awards, including the 1994
Gerrit-Engelke Prize of the city of Hannover. Her usual themes of
autobiography and partisanship for those whoa re repressed become
transformed in the encounter with nature that extends, through mythological
images, into the human unconscious.
