Röggla was born in Salzburg, Austria; she studied German and
journalism in Salzburg and then in Berlin, where she still lives.
Since 1989, she has collaborated on plays and performance events.
Her publications include the short novel Abrauschen [1997;
Taking Off], which evokes the hectic mobility of contemporary Europe,
incorporating aspects of the author's life between Salzburg and Berlin
and questioning such fundamentals as reality.
