UNSELD, Siegfried
Siegfried Unseld, born 1924 and passed away in October, 2002, steered the Suhrkamp Publishing House through the rough waters of the literary market for over 35 years. He followed Peter Suhrkamp as head of the publishing house after Suhrkamp's death in 1959. The achievements of the Suhrkamp Verlag are many, and its influence on the literary market can be felt everywhere in Germany. The success story of this publishing house (as well as of others) is an intriguing topic, and Unseld shares in the interview, published in Vol. 1 No. 1 (January 1994), his personal perspective of this topic with the readers of DIMENSION2.
